Inspired by the elaborate exuberance of the hairstyles once flaunted in Versailles, the works from the Perruque series propose a delirious oval form made of amaranth wood and ebony, combined with artificial locks of blond hair. A strange cocoon vaguely referencing Fabergé eggs, decorated with fine inlays and golden metal appliqués, is a reminiscence of both Portuguese and French furniture. Featuring eccentric conical protuberances from which strings of blond, almost white hairs come out, conferring it the unusual look of cotton candy, Perruque proposes the absurd and the surreal in the uterine shape of a grotesque yet beautiful sculpture-wig-furniture piece.
