Joana Vasconcelos presents two artworks at LSD- Libertad, solidaridad y democracia at Bueño Power Station on show until november 3rd, this is the artist's second exhibition in Spain since opening I'm Your Mirror in 2018 at Guggenheim Museum in Blibao. Fernando Ribeiro, the curator of the show, mentioned the most recent piece titled La Pasionaria which consists of a large textile heart with light that will hang suspended in honour of the Spanish anti-fascist fighter, known by the same name. Isidora Dolores Ibárruri Gómez (1895-1989), also known as 'La Pasionaria', was a Spanish communist revolutionary leader. Also on display is Diagonals, part of the Tetris series based on the hugely popular arcade game. The works featured in this series have been created utilising Portuguese fabrics and tiles.

This heart-shaped piece is a tribute to a Spanish political activist - Isidora Gómez- and, at the same time, to all the women who have fought for freedom and democracy.
