Joana Vasconcelos' art, in its postmodern configuration, is characterised by the appropriation of everyday objects, redirected into contexts with diverse connotations. (...) Through creative instinct and the very principles of objectivist theory, it is not the object that becomes a work of art, as in Pop Art (abrasive and globalising), but rather the work of art that becomes an object (unique and singular).
